For the word-nerds

"Jayshal" is a phonetic spelling of the Scottish Gaelic word "deiseil," meaning "Sunwise." Pronunciation guides for "Deosil" are usually incorrect in both pronunciation and spelling, "Jayshal" closely approximates the Scottish Gaelic pronunciation. In the Northern Hemisphere, "Sunwise" corresponds to clockwise motion, while in the Southern Hemisphere, "Sunwise" is anti-clockwise. In Scottish Gaelic, anti-clockwise is known as "tuathal," and in Lowland Scots (and the Discworld series!), it is referred to as "widdershins." Moving in a Sunwise direction is believed to bring favor or good fortune..

Quenda

Isn't it cute!

We are lucky enough to have Quenda living in our back garden. Whilst they do like to dig around the base of our plants and occasionally almost completely dig one up we still love having them.

Peace Is Where I Am

The practises of peace. I accept the world the way it is and all is forgiven. I am grateful for life and everything that nourishes it. Peace is where I am.
